Motörhead, a British heavy metal rock band, founded in 1975 by only fixed member Ian “Lemmy” Kilmister as bassist, singer, songwriter, drummer Lucas Fox, and guitarist Larry Wallis. The band is the forerunner for the new trend of British rock metal, in the late 70s, early 80s. Many lineups changed throughout the band history, but most of their top-selling albums and singles are under Phil “Philthy Animal” Taylor on drums and “Fast” Eddie Clarke on guitars works.
Within 40 years of history, Motörhead has released 49 music projects. Including 22 studio albums, 10 live recordings, 12 compilation albums, and 5 EPs. Often showed up in trio, the band achieved much success in the 80s, with singles regularly reach the top 40 UK chart.
Among those albums, Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades, and No Sleep ’til Hammersmith, secured their standing as one of the top-tier rock bands. On VH1’s 100 Greatest Artists of Hard Rock, Motörhead placed No. 26. In 2016, a number of 15 million albums sold worldwide.
