Slayer was an American band with thrash metal style. The band’s first appearance was in 1981 in Huntington, CA. The first members were Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman as guitarists, drummer Dave Lombardo, Tom Araya as bassist and vocalist. Along with Metallica, Megadeth, and Anthrax, Slayer was one of the “big four” bands with thrash metal style. The final line-up included King, Araya, drummer Jon Dette, and Paul Bostaph superseded Lombardo in 1992 and in 2013. Also guitarist Gary Holt superseded Hanneman in 2011.

Throughout Slayer’s music career, they released 12 albums in total. Including 2 live albums, a box set, 6 music clips, a cover album, and 2 extended plays. Eventually, 4 of the albums have awarded US Gold certification. From 1991 to 2013 in the US, over 5 million copies had been sold. At the same time over 20 million in the world. The song “Eyes of the Insane” and “Final Six” from Christ Illusion (2006) had won the Grammy Award nominations. After more than 30 years, producing incredible music. In Jan 2018 Slayer announced a farewell tour, from May 2018 to November 2019. The band disbanded after the tour.
